Paneer Tikka (Dry Snack)
Paneer is a fresh cheese made out of whole milk common in South Asian Cuisine.Panner Tikka is a very famous snack, served with tea/coffee, soft drink or hard drinks.
Preparation Time- 30 Minutes
Ingredients Needed:
1) Panner - 200 gms
2) Capsicum or Green Bell Peppers - 2 Medium Size
3) Onion - 1 Medium Size
4) Curd/Plain Yogurt-300-400 gms
5) Tandoori Masala-2 Tea Spoon
6) Salt - 1 Tea Spoon
7) Red Chilli Powder-1/2 Tea Spoon
8) Lemon Juice
9) Grape seed Oil (or any cooking oil)
Procedure:
Marinate Paneer: Cut Paneer into big square pieces (almost double as you want them to be after Panner Tikka is ready).Cut capsicum and onions also in same size as the Paneer. Now take a glass bowl (flat bowl is recommended) and put the curd in it and stir it well.. Add salt, red chilli powder, tandoori masala, 1 Tbl Spoon of cooking oil. Mix all of them well in the yogurt. I call it a yogurt mix :)
Now add Paneer, Bell Peppers and Onions in the yogurt mix, and try to make sure that everything is completely dipped into the yogurt mix. Cover it and refrigerate it for about 2 hrs.
Baking: Preheat the oven on 350 degrees for 10 mins. Take a baking tray, cover it with a silver foil and brush it up with the cooking oil so that the food doesn't stick to it while baking. Now carefully take out the Paneer pieces from the yogurt and place them on the tray, similarly take out the capsicum and onion from the yogurt mix and keep it on the tray (don't worry about the curd while putting the stuff on the tray,it will get absorbed in the food while baking).
After preheating the oven, place the tray (with marinated stuff over it) in the oven for 20 mins on 350 degrees. After 20 mins check if the paneer pieces have dried up. If they are perfectly dried up and the corners look like a brown color, Its ready to eat. :)
Garnishing:
Once it is all set,put them on a serving platter, garnish it with some lime juice, chaat masala and finely chopped fresh cilantro/coriander.
You can eat it with tomato ketchup or mint chutney is the best friend of paneer tikka.. :)
